Philly’s The Describers Feel ‘A Little Worse’ in New Single Out Nov. 5

The Describers get introspective about unhealthy introspection in their new single “A Little Worse.”

The new song by The Describers’ Jason McGovern explores the vicious cyclical nature of getting in one’s own head, particularly in a time when many are still feeling isolated from one another.

“A Little Worse” takes on a more mellow tone compared to their previous single “Fever Dream” which was released in September. The new song also precedes a larger release to come in 2022.

McGovern formed The Describers as a project to cater to his varied genre interests, which vary from from introspective folk and rootsy rock to synthy new wave home studio experiments.

“A Little Worse” was written, performed and produced by McGovern and mastered by Ryan Schwabe.

McGovern previously released an album under his own name in 2015, but has been releasing music and performing as and with The Describers since 2018. He also collaborates with other artists in the Philadelphia area representing a wide range of styles – mixing and contributing to releases in 2020 and 2021 from The Tisburys and Andrew Huston, and performing alongside folk mainstay Kyle Swartzwelder.

“A Little Worse” is available Nov. 5 from Eel Diner Jukebox.
